PAT Safety Testing
CERTIFIED PAT TESTING ENGINEERS
Is PAT Testing a legal requirement?
The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 make it your responsibility to make sure all your electrical equipment is safe to use. So, you should regularly inspect, test and maintain electrical appliances to make sure they’re complaint. If you don’t do this, you could be putting yourself, your employees and your business at risk.
How often do you need to PAT test?
As the duty holder, it’s your responsibility to ensure your electrical appliances are safe. As soon as your appliances are compliant, you won’t have to worry about forgetting to get them tested again. Our free reminder service will let you know when it’s time to get in touch to book in a PAT test.
What needs to be PAT tested?
What needs to be PAT tested?Any electrical appliance that has a plug needs to be PAT tested. This may include:Stationary equipment, IT equipment, moveable equipment under 18kg, portable equipment, hand-held equipment, fixed equipment.
What is tested during a PAT test?
We carry out a number of inspections and tests:
User Check - This informs the user of any potential danger signs, and an appliance can fail on this check i.e. a frayed cable can be marked as not safe to use.
Formal Visual Inspection - This is a simple process of visually inspection all of the appliance, cable and plug for obvious faults, including the fuse and wiring of the plug should be tested.
Combined Inspections and PAT Testing - This is the main test, that involves the PAT testing equipment. This determines if the device is electrically safe to use on the class of construction i.e Class 1, Class 2 and so forth.

We're Fair
If you’ve looked on the web you will be already be aware that there are hundreds of pat testing companies out there, all competing for your business, and all seemingly prepared to offer you a 'lowest price guarantee!' The truth is that there are many factors which determine how much you will pay, the price per item is only part of the story.
Inclusive Charges
Most companies charge separately for testing detachable mains leads on computers etc, which mean that you pay for twice as many appliances as you thought you had! We don’t.
FREE Repairs and Fuses
Other companies charge an unrealistic price per item tested, but charge excessive amounts for 'repairs' - many of which may not be necessary. We offer FREE fuse replacement and FREE minor repairs.
We NEVER 'cut corners'
Some companies offer prices which are so ridiculously cheap they can only be met by cutting corners, or by not testing at all. All our work is logged and a certificate is is issued - a little like an MOT.
Our Price 'Guarantee'
We will offer you a fair and honest price for your pat testing, based on the expected number of items you have, the type of equipment you have and your location.
We will test your equipment using accurate and efficient test methods, which are traceable to national standards laid down by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
We will be clear and open with our pricing and we will work with you to make sure that the amount you are quoted is the amount you pay when the job is complete.
We will consult with you to make sure that our service meets your needs, and that there are no nasty surprises when you get the bill!
Our service is second to none, and we still offer the best prices in the business.
